Oracle and Google copyright Battle Fight

 This is a fight between #Google and #Oracle, over some #API code. They are fighting over this for a very long time since 2010 (Decade).




Yesterday the #supremecourt heard a case over a multibillion $ copyright battle between oracle and google which could generate a serious impact across the tech industry.

Oracle said that #Google #Andriod smartphones infringed on copyright from the #JAVA API platform which #Oracle acquired in 2010. #Oracle also said that Google steals over 11000 lines of JAVA API code.

What is an #API?
"An application program interface is a prewritten code that allows apps, programs, and websites to communicate with each other. The issue of how APIs are used as the central question for the judges hearing this case."

This is one of the biggest cases because it will change the way innovation takes place in silicon valley.

This case is seemed to be in favor of #Oracle but the ruling could not be made until next June, So I mark my calendar.

Many big tech companies like #Microsoft in favor of #Google, saying some fair use of API should be allowed so that companies can interact with each other and for Innovation also.
The consequences of this decision will be quite large.

The Buffett Indicator
